What are the adhesive and cushioning materials used for and how to use them? Adhesives and cushioning materials such as adhesive DoubleLine, adhesive fabric and adhesive flizeline are widely used in sewing garments, especially shoulder garments. They give extra rigidity, shape to details or areas of clothing, for example, collar, lapel, cuff, etc.adhesive materials must be used when sewing jackets, coats, etc. The sleeves and collar of such clothes must "keep the shape", and therefore the fabric must be "strengthened" to give it additional rigidity. Adhesive flizelin on one side is coated with glue, which is why it was called glue.
For the material to retain its highest quality for the longest possible time and fully fulfill its role, read our recommendations. Non-woven fabric is usually made of synthetic fibers, so you should pay attention to how it is treated. The fleece can be machine washed even at 60 ° C. Non-woven fabric is usually glued to the material from the inside. This is done with an iron at a temperature of min. 125 ° C but not more than 150 ° C.
Make sure that the iron does not touch the adhesive part, because cleaning the sole of the iron from traces of glue is quite a difficult task. Under the seal there should be no scraps of thread, air bubbles and non-sticky areas. If the flizelin does not stick well, process this part of the product again. If there are still air bubbles, evaporate the gasket so that it can be separated, and apply new flizelin there.
It is recommended to machine wash at a temperature not higher than 30-40 degrees, using only and exclusively mild detergents. Try not to use aggressive bleaching agents, as the fabric structure may be damaged. Another tricky moment is the ironing mode: it must match the material to which the flizelin adheres. Glue is not afraid of high temperatures, but the basic material can change. In the event that during the washing process the flizelin departs from the fabric, it is necessary to re-process the product. It is best to avoid high rotation speeds during washing and stretching during manual twisting, as the flizelin can deform, which will affect the appearance of the product. - it is best to dry products using glue in natural conditions, avoiding direct sunlight or contact with heaters.
